KINVER EDGE
I happened to visit Kinver village last year while holidaying at Stourbridge. Kinver is a small yet beautiful village five minutes away from Stourbridge. What I found really amazing about this place is the abundance of old buildings and the Kinver Edge.
For those of you who have not heard of Kinver Edge before, it's an impressive three hundred acres of national trust land situated within walking distance from the village of Kinver. A great place for bird watching and wildlife spotting, Kinver Edge rises 164 meters above sea level.
I found the view from the top of Kinver Edge really fascinating and it also has an abundance of cave houses that were carved from the rocky outcrops in the area. If you enjoyed J. R. R Tolkien's work, you'd be fascinated to know that these cave houses and small gardens at Kinver Edge were the inspiration for his Middle Earth. These cave houses were inhabited by people as recently as the 1960's. Pretty cool, isn't it?
